My Story began one day in the fall of 2011 on a very long walk, when an idea came to me. As a young girl who grew up in Los Altos, California, I always had various food ideas which I wanted to be convenient, healthy, environmentally friendly and sanitary but never had the time to act on them. Because I traveled a lot in my former career as an Account Executive for an International Airline, I enjoyed “In Room Dining” during my frequent hotel stays. It was my “In Room Dining” experience that sparked my idea of creating Elly Olive Oil Balsamic Vinaigrettes with the hope of a favorable long lasting result!
My favorite choice on dining menus is salads either for lunch or dinner, or a late night snack, it doesn’t matter. I enjoy eating salad with lots of fresh vegetables accompanied by fresh bread. For my salad dressing and bread dipping, hence my Greek heritage, I always order Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic on the side. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic would either come in a ramekken dish or in Cruets. Either way, I found the presentation was cumbersome, messy, sticky, unsanitary and I just couldn’t get the proportions right.
So on that day, on my very long walk, I decided to do something about my idea. My idea was to create a single serving of a perfectly proportioned blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar designed as a Vinaigrette for a salad, bread dipping or a complement to any entree or appetizer. I wanted the Vinaigrette to come in an environmentally friendly glass bottle that is both recyclable and reusable with a tamper evident cap. I wanted both the quality of the ingredients and the packaging to be exceptional. I wanted the brand name and logo to have a trendy, vibrant, classy look. With much passion, enthusiasm and research needed to complete my idea, I found no room for compromise. One year later with my Mom’s creative input, I completed my idea, bringing an individual serving size of Elly Olive Oil Balsamic Vinaigrettes to you, your home and your friends for any and all occasions.
Today, Elly Olive Oil features 9 Flavoured Vinaigrettes which can be found in Hotels and Resorts, in Airports, Wineries, Cafes and Specialty Food Stores. Our mission is to satisfy our customers, therefore, creating tasteful Vinaigrettes requested by Executive Chefs, Specialty Food Buyers and Private Event Coordinators. We listen to our customers’ requests and are happy to let you know we just launched our new Large 250ML Vinaigrettes in our three most popular Flavors, Dark (classic) Balsamic, Meyer Lemoni and Sweet Basil.
